Where to shop in Frankfurt?
Souvenirs Frankfurt
Souvenirs are a tricky thing: The mandatory shot glasses, cups, key holders and postcards are often not only very tacky but most of the time just end up in a dusty corner of your apartment. Souvenirs Frankfurt has a totally different approach: What began as a pop up store on the high street is now a store in famous Zeilgalerie and offers cool and stylish gifts that are in the same time very typical for the city. It ranges from a crocheted pillow that looks like a „Frankfurter Kranz“ (the local cake), to artsy screen prints, to music by local bands and labels, you can find cool bits and pieces of Frankfurt’s culture in this neat concept store with café.
Souvenirs Frankfurt, Zeilgalerie 2nd floor, Zeil 112 – 114. 60313 Frankfurt, Daily 10-20h, except Sundays.
Epiphany
Decent vintage stores are a little bit hard to find in Frankfurt, although since 2011 there is a real treasure chest just at the beginning of Zeil. Epiphany offers high quality second hand clothing, shoes and accessories to very adequate prices. On their blog they show the coolest newbies in store and hip street styles from Frankfurt.
Epiphany – Vintage and More, Zeil 10, 60313 Frankfurt, Mo-Fr 11:30 – 19:00, Sa 11:30 – 18:00
Kleine Markthalle
A Frankfurt institution is the Kleine Markthalle, an indoor market on two levels with over 60 market booths, snack bars and restaurants. In between fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, wine and spices from all over the world, you can also find traditional Frankfurter specialities like Grüne Soße or Frankfurter sausages. Bring enough time to stroll the aisles, try the fresh goods and have a light lunch with apple wine at one of the booths on the second level.
Kleine Markthalle, Mo-Fr 08:00 – 18:00, Sa 08:00 – 16:00
