Café Karin
Café Karin is a real institution for breakfast and cakes just in the center of Frankfurt’s old town. Famous for the best scrambled eggs, a yummy Bircher Müsli and home made ice tea you can have breakfast all day. The cozy seating area is a real melting pot of generations and this way Café Karin stands out not only for the excellent menu but mostly for its guests. At every time of the day, the café is nicely filled with long-established Frankfurters, students, soon-to-be actors, visitors and freelancers, taking advantage of the free WiFi.

Heimat
In a former gas station at Berliner Straße, one of the nicest restaurants and wine tavern makes a perfect shelter for rainy autumn evenings. Although you won’t find beer at „Heimat“, you’ll be spoilt with a small, but oh my menu with changing dishes, selected wines and a very personal atmosphere, where you can glimpse over the chef’s shoulder. But quality has it’s price: A cheese platter and 2 glasses of wine will cost you about 30€.

Margarete (Gruppen)
If after a long visit at the museum or an exhaustive shopping haul: Whoever falls in one of the cosy chairs at Margarete, never stands up again. The venue persuades with a decent, modern atmosphere, divided into Café and Bar, restaurant and the bistro „Fenster zur Stadt“, where there are changing exhibitions. A speciality at Margarete are the Frankfurter Tapas: Lentil salad with squid, „Grüne Soße“ with egg, marinaded german hand cheese or smoked sausage. Tables for bigger groups can be booked online or via phone.

Walden
Just across the street of Café Karin lies „Walden“, a mixture of restaurant, breakfast place and bar with nightclub in the 1. floor. Here you can enjoy watching people in the sun while having breakfast, meet friends for dinner and cocktails in the evening and dive into the Frankfurt nightlife at the bar and club.
