For a true burger fan Austria might be a tricky place, but lighten up if you’re in Salzburg. Two outlets of Burgermeister serve you burgers with tasty bread buns and organic meat in 13 different styles starting from 4,50€. Good news for vegetarians and vegans: there are special burgers with tofu or feta cheese on the menu.
This place used to be the city’s movie theatre, until it was transformed in a colourful bar and theatre in 2001. Since then it’s been a place where locals just like tourists like to meet for a coffee in the afternoon or a beer at night. Salzburg’s most impressive landmark in the middle of the city just can’t be missed. The best way to explore it is to take the cable car up, be amazed by the view over the city and then walk through the grounds. To get back down you can either take the cable car or simply walk down the steep road, which is a trip well worth it. And you might as well stop at the Stieglkeller for a beer or two on the way down.
If you want to avoid one of Vienna’s biggest tourist traps make sure you stay away from those nice people dressed as Mozart wanting to sell concerts to classical concerts (for tourists) in the inner city.
