MEININGER Campus in Hamburg
Pursuing a dual education or a hotel training with MEININGER can mean many things, from meeting new people that share your passion for traveling and culture to mastering exciting challenges with colleagues on a daily basis, gaining lots of new insights, growing through teamwork, fostering open exchange and developing yourself personally. Once a year, all dual students and trainees get together for the MEININGER Campus.
MEININGER Training 2019
This year, more than 50 employees from all over Germany and Austria traveled to the northern German city of Hamburg to gather for a fun weekend with a varied agenda full of opportunities to socialize, exchange and learn. The event started off with a reception at the MEININGER Hotel Hamburg City Center, where the hotel staff, HR and regional manager teams warmly welcomed the participants, who – needless to say – also stayed for the night.
Training program
Apart from workshops and lectures, the program also included an urban treasure hunt, bowling and a presentation about the diverse career opportunities at MEININGER. A favorite of our young talents was the speed dating session, in which they were encouraged to interview long-standing employees about their experiences and careers at MEININGER, and to seek advice regarding their own professional development. The workshops were a further highlight: participants learned more about how to properly set a table according to gastronomic rules, how to do a standard room cleaning, and what’s particularly important when communicating with guests.
In order to give something back, the group also decorated more than 250 cookies with chocolate and sugar sprinkles and sold them for charity. Finally, we cannot forget the very entertaining competition for the title of ‘team of the weekend’. We would like to say a big thank you to all the participants, who turned this weekend into an unforgettable #meiningermoment! We are already looking forward to next year!
