Discover the best Vegan Restaurants in Milan
Best Vegan restaurants in Milan…where do we start! Known as Italy’s fashion capital, Milan has a lot more to offer than just catwalks and fashion shows. It’s a city with a rich cultural history, with some of the country’s finest museums and of course, La Scala, the best known opera house in Italy.
But more than that, it’s also a foodie city. Here are some of the best vegan restaurants to experience in Milan.
Alhambra Cafe
This cute little bakery close to the central train station serves up some quick lunch bites. This includes homemade sandwiches and wraps, but the real reason to come is for their selection of homemade cakes. They’re all delicious and slices of the giant, creamy heavenly things. They are generous enough to share without being overpriced. They seem to have the perfect balance between creamy, fruity, chocolatey and fluffy down.
BistroBio
For something hearty and down to earth, this cozy place in the La Fontana neighborhood is the place. As well as being fully vegan, everything is organic and gluten free, and prepared with love and care. Food is relatively simple (think grains, beans and vegetables) but everything is delicious. Their homemade cakes are some of the best in the city. Don’t miss the breakfast cakes for a chance to scoff some guilt-free tasty treats first thing in the morning! What’s more, service is personal and friendly without being overbearing. Add to that, free unlimited water and tea!
Flower Burger
Craving burgers but trying to stay healthy? Flower Burger is the perfect solution. A country-wide chain, but still with very few outlets, this is the original. The menu is not very large, but it makes up for it with beautiful presentation and innovative use of all natural (and vegan, of course) food colorings in the buns. This creates some of the most visually appealing burgers you’ve ever seen.
GhEA
An innovative and tasteful entirely plant based restaurant, GhEA offers something a little special without breaking the bank. Suggested is to order the menu degustazione. This consists of a handful of small portions of the dishes available that day to get a taste of the best they have to offer. The food is mostly classic northern Italian flavours with a modern twist. The atmosphere makes this an ideal place for a romantic evening or a special night out.
Mantra Raw Vegan
Serving lunch and dinner, this is Milan’s only fully raw vegan restaurant located in the Porta Nuova neighbourhood. While modern, it’s not overly fancy and features an open kitchen. It’s an easy place to come for a full meal and leave totally satisfied, but also a good place to stop for an afternoon snack and drink to recharge (for this, the freshly pressed juices are highly recommended).
SOULGREEN
Slick, modern and definitely the most high-end vegan restaurant in Milan. This place serves an international mix of healthy food, all of which happens to be gluten free as well as vegan. Prices are not listed on the menu, but expect it to be one of your most expensive meals in Milan, which is absolutely worth it for a fine dining experience to remember. The menu is presented to you on an iPad, and you place your order on it too!
