With the opening of the MEININGER Rome Termini on April 30th, the MEININGER Group now also operates a hotel in Italy's capital. The hotel offers a total of 118 rooms and 319 beds and is located on Via San Martino della Battaglia, near Termini Station.
The interior design of the hotel is based on a distinctive theme specific to the local area. At <link _blank internal-link-new-window internal link in new>MEININGER Rome Termini, guests are taken to the world of film and allowed to take a look behind the scenes. Rome is a movie city, where numerous films were shot, including some popular classics. A nice inspiration for the design of the rooms and public areas. Whether it's director chairs in the rooms, cinema seats and a stage in the lobby, red carpets in the hallways or room numbers in the form of clapperboards, the theme is omnipresent.
Doros Theodorou, CCO of MEININGER Hotels, emphasizes the importance of the theme design "It is important to us that the location of the hotel becomes part of the hotels' individual personality. This allows our guests to already experience the city in the hotel but from a different, surprising or exciting side. That makes our hotels unique and offers an added value to our guests."
The MEININGER Rome Termini is located in an old building which was previously a medical center and was subsequently converted to a MEININGER hotel. The 118 modern rooms are spread over 6 floors. The room types range from classic double rooms and private multi-bed-rooms through to a bed in a dormitory. "The mix of room types is adapted to the demand of our target groups and tailored to the location. We expect the typical mix of MEININGER guests including backpackers, groups, families, individual and business travellers." says Doros Theodorou.
All public areas such as reception, lobby, lounge, breakfast room and bar as well as the guest kitchen and games zone, which are all typical features of a MEININGER hotel, are located on the ground floor and basement of the building.
Located only 500 meters from the main train station Termini, the MEININGER Hotel is perfectly connected to local and long-distance public transport. Its central location makes it easy to explore the whole city from here.
The MEININGER Rome Termini is already the second hotel of the MEININGER group in Italy. In December 2017, MEININGER opened a first hotel in Milan and a second MEININGER in Milan is going to open in late summer this year. "With the opening of the hotel in Rome, the MEININGER portfolio has been expanded by another important location. I am very happy that we now also operate a hotel in Italy's capital. Rome is a diverse city whose architecture, cultural and art history attracts tourists from all over the world." says Hannes Spanring, CEO of MEININGER Hotels.
The expansion of the MEININGER Group is progressing steadily. "By the end of 2018, we will open five more hotels in Europe. In addition, there are 10 more hotels under development." Hannes Spanring continued.
