Instead of cash: MEININGER Hotels opts for cashless payment at their hotels
After a successful test phase this year, MEININGER Hotels wants to say goodbye to cash payments more and more in large parts of its hotels. Since June 1, guests should preferably pay cashless at most of the hotel group's locations.

MEININGER Hotels opens new property in Bremen: a new building complex in the Bahnhofsvorstadt springs to life
Spring 2022 could not have gotten off to a better start for MEININGER Hotels—on 25 May, the hotel chain will open a new property between Bremen's main train station and the new long-distance bus terminal. It is the 13th location in Germany and already the second new opening this year.

With the signing of the contract for a hotel in Krakow, the hotel group expands its portfolio in Poland. A MEININGER hotel is also currently being built in Warsaw. The opening of both hotels is planned for 2023.

New location in Italy: MEININGER Hotels takes over a former hostel in Venice
MEININGER Hotels has signed a lease agreement securing the hotel group's operation of a former 434-bed hostel in Venice Mestre. The opening of the property on behalf of the MEININGER Hotels Group is planned for the second half of 2022.

Bienvenue to the fourth MEININGER hotel in France: A new hybrid hotel in Marseille opens its doors
Beginning January 19, 2022, the MEININGER Hotel Marseille Centre La Joliette will welcome guests. This makes the southern French port city the hotel chain's fourth location in France after Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux, and the hotel group is planning further openings this year in Germany.

MEININGER Hotels to open its fourth hotel in Austria this November: Innsbruck is the fourth of five new openings in 2021
It has been a fruitful year for MEININGER Hotels. In the beginning of November, the group will open the doors to its newest hotel: the MEININGER Hotel Innsbruck Zentrum, the fourth MEININGER hotel in Austria. This means that in addition to Salzburg and Vienna, guests can now benefit from low-cost accommodation in Innsbruck. The new MEININGER hotel in Innsbruck is done in a fitting "Way to Mountain Adventure" theme and offers a total of 260 beds. The group's fifth 2021 opening is planned for December in Marseille, France.

Geneva: MEININGER Hotels opens second hotel in Switzerland in June – interior design inspired by the big bang
Geneva is the third new opening for MEININGER Hotels this year, and the group’s second Swiss location after Zurich, where a new MEININGER hotel has just opened last month. The newly constructed building in Geneva’s Charmilles district offers a total of 104 rooms and 362 beds. Two more new openings are on the agenda for MEININGER Hotels this year–in Innsbruck and Marseille. A total of five new hotels will open in 2021.

Expansion in 2021: The second of five new hotels opens in Bordeaux in May
It is the second of five new hotels that MEININGER Hotels will open this year and the third in France: the MEININGER Hotel Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean opened 26 May. Close to main train station Gare Saint Jean, the hotel can accommodate up to 493 guests in a total of 162 rooms. With this project, the hotel group once again emphasizes its ambitious growth plans during the pandemic.

Market entry in Switzerland: MEININGER’s first hotel in Switzerland opens in Zurich in May
MEININGER Hotels starts the season of new openings in May with a market entry: In Zurich, the hotel chain opens its first hotel in Switzerland. A second hotel will follow in June in Geneva, western Switzerland. However, the opening of the 174-room hotel in the sustainable Greencity district on the outskirts of Zurich not only marks the market entry into a new country, but also the start of a total of five new openings in the pandemic year 2021.
